We recently had our wedding reception at The Shearwater Hotel and could not recommend it highly enough!
We went to one of their wedding showcases and were immediately struck by how friendly and professional all of the staff were. The hotel itself is stunning and has beautiful areas for both the drinks reception, dinner and dancing and photos.
Kate the wedding co-ordinator was amazing to work with, always responding to our emails quickly and happy to facilitate any ideas we had. Both Kate and the general manager Des were so attentive on the wedding day itself, regularly checking in with us to make sure we were happy with how everything was going and also letting us have a little moment to ourselves to see the ballroom before our guests entered.
The food service was superb, from the food itself to the waiting staff and the timings of the courses. Several of our guests commented on how good the food was and there was no waiting around in between courses, which meant the flow of the day continued nicely and there was no lull in the atmosphere!
Overall we could not have been happier with our wedding day and our experience at The Shearwater.

We enjoyed our wedding at the Shearwater. All the staff were so kind to us, and our drinks reception was beautiful. Thank you, Kate, you were so good to us as well. My husband and I had an amazing experience with the Shearwater Hotel all during the preparations and on the weekend of our wedding. After viewing many potential venues we were so impressed by the Shearwater that we knew the search was over. From the beautifully decorated and spacious ballroom and reception area to its delicious food options and outstanding service provided by the staff. No request was too big or small for Kate and the team.
Our guests were very complimentary of the food and all dietary requests were more than satisfied. We also had our day two in the Marina Lounge which was perfect for a more intimate crowd, delicious BBQ, and a dancefloor for live music. We felt really relaxed over the whole wedding weekend knowing that the Shearwater team had everything planned and arranged meticulously.
I would highly recommend the Shearwater Hotel to any couple getting married for a day filled with fun, laughter, and celebrations ❤️

We had our dream wedding on the 6th of December 2024 in the Shearwater Hotel. We found the wedding co ordinator Chloe absolutely brilliant, nothing was an issue and she guided us so well along the way to our big day. I cannot recommend this hotel enough, every member of staff on the day was so friendly and helpful. As with weddings I've been to before sometimes the food can be cold by the time it comes around however this was not the case with the Shearwater, everyone of our guests commented on how nice the food was and how everything was hot! The weather didn't go to plan for us on our big day however our photographers took the most beautiful photos in the hotel. Overall great hotel, great staff, great price and worth looking into for your wedding day!

We got married in the Shearwater Hotel on the 20/12/24 ,it was a Christmas wedding and the hotel felt so magical and festive with all of its decor .
Chloe the wedding coordinator was extremely helpful in all aspects of planning our special day.
Everything we needed help with was no issue and nothing was too much hassle.

Our wedding couldn’t have come together so well without the grace of God and the immense help from Chloe and the Shearwater Wedding Team.
They went above and beyond for us, and were willing to accommodate everything that we needed to ensure our vision for our wedding became a reality. Other hotels weren’t nearly as accommodating, and so we chose Shearwater. We were not disappointed. In fact, we were blown away by the final product and had great feedback from our guests.

I truly believe a hotel that can show that much care towards making a couple's day so special is a testament to the hotel team and their professionalism and commitment. The quality of the food and presentation was excellent. The Hotel is to a very high standard and very well suited to cater for any function. The bridal suit is superb and would be hard to find any better.

We have never heard guests at a wedding say so often how relaxed the whole day was and that is down to the whole team at the Shearwater. The call down for dinner, the efficency of the service and just the general professionalism of everyone meant the whole day ran so smoothly from start to finish.
Everyone raved about the food and some saying they have never been fed so much at a wedding in their lives!

From the minute we walked into the lobby we knew this was the hotel we wanted to get married in. The biggest bonus was having someone like Chloe as the wedding coordinator, nothing was too much to ask her. The service and food was unbelievable. This summer we had our wedding at the Shearwater Hotel, and we truly couldn’t be happier with our experience! From start to finish, everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and helpful—nothing was ever too much trouble, and they made the whole process feel easy and enjoyable.
The food was amazing—our guests are still talking about it, and we can’t wait to go back and eat there again to riminess about the day! We are still dreaming about the vegetable soup. Every detail was handled with care, and it really showed. Thank you to the entire team at the Shearwater for making our wedding so special!

We had our wedding reception at The Shearwater Hotel & Spa on 5th of July 2024. Where to even start?! It was everything we could have dreamed of and more. The staff were absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much hassle for them. The food was one of the highlights of the day - from the arrivals to the main meal that evening, the food was outstanding. Our guests are still talking about it to this day. As for the wedding coordinator - Chloe, she is absolutely amazing at her job. From day one, she was so kind, helpful and really put her all into giving us the best day possible. We cannot thank her enough. She had great ideas for us, nothing was too much trouble for her. It made what could have been a very stressful run up to the wedding a seamless and enjoyable one. The hotel itself is gorgeous, so spacious and the decor is gorgeous too. I could go on all day about how brilliant this venue is. If you are on the fence about having your wedding here, let this be your sign to book it. You will not regret it.
