Are the rates per person or per room?

All prices, unless stated otherwise on our website, are on a per-room-basis.

Can children share my room?

The Majority of our rooms are one double bed. Children under 3 years of age can sleep for Free in the existing bedding as parents at no additional cost. You must make our reservations team aware prior your arrival to us.  Supplements for our Standard Family rooms and Two Bedroom Family rooms are reflective on our website. 

Do you offer wheelchair accessible rooms?

Yes, the hotel has wheelchair accessible rooms with appropriate accessible equipment, when making a reservation please note on the booking that a wheelchair accessible room is required or call our reservations team directly. Please note that the beds in these rooms have standard double beds only and we do not have an accessible room which is a twin room. 

When is my card charged for my reservation?

Payment Policy: Please note that the majority of our special offers are not charged at the point of booking. Payment is done upon check-in unless you have booked one of our offers that states we take payment in advance. Advance purchase rates are charged in full at time of booking and are non-refundable.

What is the hotels cancellation policy?

Cancellation Policy: Bookings must be cancelled 48 hours in advance of your arriving date. In the event of a no show or a cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice the first night’s cost of your stay will be charged. For a third-party website cancelation must be processed through their website subject to their terms and conditions.

If I have booked a spa package that includes treatments are the treatments automatically booked?  

No, please note that you must contact the Spa to book in your treatment time, please call the Hotel directly on 09096/30400. 

 

Do we need to prebook for Breakfast & Dinner?

Breakfast & Dinner Times

Breakfast from the 8th of February does not need to prebooked 

Breakfast is served: 

Monday to Friday breakfast is served from 7am to 10am

Saturday & Sunday breakfast is served from 8am to 11am 

 

Dinner: 

 From the 8th February we will be launching our New Bar Menu  - No booking is needed 

If you are an overnight guest and your package includes an evening meal then pre-booking would be necessary.

All guests that have an evening meal included will dine in our restaurant, especially on Friday & Saturday evenings as well as Bank Holiday's and peak season dates.

 

Check in/Check out

What is check in time?

Check in is available from 4pm and check out is at 12pm in the Hotel. 

Can we have a Late Check out? 

Yes, late check outs are done on request at a cost of €30 for a 2pm check out. Contact us in advance to arrange this.

What family room types are available?

 We have two types of rooms which are available :  

 

1. Standard Family rooms 

These rooms have one double bed and one single bed. 

Upon request we can also pop in a cot free of charge if needed.  

 

2. Two Bedroom Family rooms 

These rooms consist of two bedrooms which reside in the same room. 

These rooms are perfect for a large family of two adults and two children. These rooms have ample space and we can even add in an extra rollaway or cot two. 

 One room has one double bed perfect for the adults to relax and unwind, while., the children can have fun and play in the Teepee's and enjoy the comfort in their own beds!

Is it possible to request an earlier check in/later check out?

Unfortunately, we cannot 100% guarantee availability for an earlier check in. A later check out can be requested at reception at an additional charge.

Is there a hairdryer available in the rooms?

Yes, there is a hairdryer available in each of our guestrooms

Is Wifi available at the hotel?

Virgin Wifi is available throughout the hotel public areas and bedrooms and is free of charge. 

 

Are there smoking rooms available? 

Smoking is not permitted and Shearwater Hotel is a non-smoking hotel. Fines apply to guests that have smoked within the hotel. Smoking areas can be found on the ground floor of the hotel.  

What children's entertainment is available?

 During peak seasons such as Summer, there is a Kids Club available which runs from 4pm- 8pm. Please note that you will need to prebook these slots as limited spaces are available.
