I would highly recommend the Carlton Shearwater for a lovely homely atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.The decor matches that of an upmarket city hotel. My only regret is time did not allow for a trip to the Spa....Next time

Really was impressed with Hotel rooms, Value for money and the staff were excellent. Special mention for Bar staff on duty Saturday night 6th June who were very professional and even had drinks sent to the room for the kids. Great Service!!!!!!

Only one and a half hours from Dublin by road it is a superb hotel with great leisure facilities. Very friendly staff and excellent food.

This was our second stay and will definitely not be our last. The only thing I would add would be an American news station. I would even settle for CNN. See you next time.

Very comfortable, quiet (mid week). Staff very friendly and helpful. Samll problems sorted very quickly and efficiently. Breakfast would be slightly improved with some fresh bread / rolls rather than soda bread and croissants and some honey but what was available was fine.Would not hesitate to recommend or to re-visit.

I recently stayed in the Shearwater Hotel and my overall experience was very good. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The rooms were lovely and the relaxation room in the spa was really ... lovely. I found the lighting in the restaurant a bit dark , and although the food was lovely I do think it needs a bit more to it. That would really be the only flaw I had about the hotel and I would definately stay there again. ---

I was a guest of the Neal and Caroline McLoughlin wedding that was held on your property In Ballinasloe on 3/19/2009. i arrived from the United states and was greeted in a very professional manner i ... was checked and was in my room in no time the wedding reception and food was exceptional !!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to say that your entire team was way above any standards that they have to go by! I was going to e-mail you with some names but that would not be fair to everyone in your hotel I saw the same faces the next day in the Hotel they had a long night also.So i would like to have you tell your entire Staff from the maintainence staff,front desk, porters,bar keeps ,waiters,waitresses,dish washers, chef,s,all their staff a a Thank-YOU for their Hospitality it will not be forgotten. Have stayed in Carlton Shearwater on a number of occasions. Beautiful relaxing break, friendly staff, lovely rooms, and a terrific Leisure Centre. Would highly recommend

During 2008 I had two lovely weekend breaks at the Carlton Shearwater Hotel. The staff were first class the rooms perfect and the food - come and see - just great.
