We stayed here to celebrate my partner's birthday. We had two adult children and two 11 year old twins. The hotel gave us an adjoining suite and room with an interconnecting door. Both the room and the ...
suite together had lots of space and we did not feel crowded or as though we were living on top of each other for the two days stay. The room(s) provided were excellent and the shower cubicle in the suite was a pleasant surprise from having a shower in the bath. We didn't avail of the bar facilities but it looked quite accommodating. The food in the restaurant, both for the buffet breakfast and the serviced evening meal was faultless and indeed very good. However, the ambiance of the restaurant itself was lacking in a restaurant atmosphere and felt more like a holiday camp dining room experience. Carlton are very brave to site an hotel here in Ballinasloe as there really does not seem to be very much around to attract the stereotypical tourist, but that said the experience within the hotel was overall excellent. We availed of a special offer and consequently got excellent value for money. We would have been happy to pay more for the service that we received. My partner, whose birthday it was, enjoyed a Spa treatment on our final day and enjoyed it more than any other Spa treatment experience that she had previously enjoyed so much, that she is going again purely for the Spa treatments. ---

We stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. the meal, service were the best I've ever experienced. We were upgraded to a suite for very little. all the facilities were top class and was only sorry that the ...
hotel is in our own county and we couldn't justify a week's holiday there!I know that all the wedding party were of similar opinions- nothing was too much trouble. Thanks for a wonderful break. ---

our short visit to the Shearwater was a memorable one. The spa was a delight and the staff in all areas of the hotel were most helpful, even when we had a misunderstanding regarding our accommodation. We would love to return! Thank you

My husband, my two children and I stayed at the Carlton Shearwater hotel commencing Easter Sunday for three nights. It is very child friendly with an excellent kids club. The leisure centre was immaculate, fantastic food and staff were very helpful. I would highly recommend it.

We arrived for a two night stay on Friday night.
We ate in the bar both nights and they food was the best we've tasted in a long time. Breakfast was fantastic, huge selection. Rooms were spacious and modern.
Music until around midnight both nights which we could hear from the bedroom but we are night owls so weren't bothered by this. Can see how it may bother some though.

A very good hotel with very good staff, very welcoming. Good clean hotel with good facilities both for business and relaxing. I have now used this hotel for 8 nights spread out over 2 months and will be using it again if need be. Keep up the good work and standard.

Two nights in the Carlton Shearwater ... just not enough! The staff made everyone feel welcome. Room very comfortable. Food excellent. Any request dealt with, with a smile. Have not met such nice, helpful people for a long time. Looking forward already, hopefully, to next years conference. Five stars all around!!!

Had a lovely stay at the Shearwater over the May Bank Holiday. The hotel is so spacious. The bedrooms are large with fluffy towels and cozy beds. The pool area is lovely. I had a facial in their Spa and ...
it was amazing, I spent over an hour after it in their relaxation room reading magazines and drinking tea!! The food in the bar was great and it was a great place to sit, listen to music and people watch - my favorite past time!!! I will defiantly be back! ---

I decided to try the Carlton Shearwater for a company conference when I brought some of Managers back to Ireland from Eastern Europe. The facilities were great, the rooms well equipped, clean and spacious and overall the experience was an excellent one. I would use again!
