We just had our winter wedding in the Shearwater , it was the most amazing day , we would like to thank Annette for all her help throughout the year , Jakub and Connor for their fantastic work on the day ... , it was everything we dreamed off , we were so happy , the safe we're excellent and the food was amazing , the 300 + guests were taking about the food days after the wedding was over , I would highly recommend this hotel to everybody , ye were all amazing , THANK YOU All ,,,, ---

When 6 of us arrived from Australia for my son's wedding little did we know that the reception at Shearwater would be one of the most amazing function experiences we would have. The attention to detail, the staff, the service, EVERYTHING, was amazing and a year on we are still all singing your praises. Can't wait to return!

We just had our wedding in the Shearwater.. It was a amazing. Staff, food, rooms, everything was 5star. we were treated like royalty for the day. A big thank you to Annette for all her hard work over the last year and a half. to Donnacha and conor for everything on Saturday and Sunday. Would recommend this Hotel to any1.

We stayed in this great hotel from Thurs 26th of Jan to Sun 29th. Overall it was fab, nice clean rooms. We booked two rooms, one double, and a twin. It was a birthday get together for my mother who lives ... in another county in Ireland. The breakfast was amazing, from big Irish breakfast with lovely Irish brown bread, plus European type of breakfast. The lady serving us was great, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, even down to getting us hot water to heat up our daughter's bottle of milk. But we booked two full body massages, and two facials for my mother and myself, in their amazing spa "Heather and Earth", Both treatments done on different days. I had a girl named Michelle she did the full body massage, it was the best massage I ever had, she was so friendly and caring, extremely professional. My facial was done by a girl called Aisling, she was absolutely wonderful, such a great laugh, I really enjoyed my time there. My mother really enjoyed her treatments too, sorry cannot remember the girl name. The spa itself, is so relaxing, dark, lit only with candles. The English Lady at the reception in the spa was very friendly and also helpful. I'm Irish, but i live in the UK, i have told all my friends they must stay there and have some treatments. Room service was prompt, and food was delicious. The only thing I would say is in the morning at 4am the rooms get very cool, not freezing. Management was made aware as we checked out. Overall we would give our stay 9/10..totally fab!!!! ---

We stayed for two nights and would have loved to stay longer, staff were super, john in the bar had a pleasantness way beyond normal, he had a nice way of making guests and locals interact, also his ... presentation to detail in the way he served you was of sheer 5 star quality, The restaurant was absolutely out of this world, Mary who ran the service was prompt courteous and very professional in the way she approached her position, another member of staff who excelled at there position. The food served was by any means the best food that i have ever eaten in any restaurant in any country i have visited in the last thirty years or more. only one gripe which i know will be addressed is the draught coming under the door in the sauna, easy sorted, don't let me down. I will definitely make a return visit soon. Thanks again John /Mary and all the staff you excel and show great enthusiasm in what you do, don't stop! ---

we have just spent a relaxing weekend away with our 10month old baby in the carlton shearwater hotel, the hotel beautiful, food amazing and the staff was second to none, everyone from the receptionist ... karen, to the guy in the leisure centre (tall, dark haired guy) to all of the staff that served us in the bar throughout our stay were amazing, a hotel can only thrive on the quality of the staff it provides and the shearwater is at the top of its game in this category....thanks for a great weekend. We will be back in the near future ---

I've stayed at the hotel a number of times. A family of country fans we often attend music on Sunday nights but stay over for special occasions, and once for a lovely three day break. Great deals, great prices, lovely rooms, fantastic welcome and staff right across the board are friendly and welcoming. We will definately be staying again.... and again.....

Stayed 3 nights to attend a friends wedding, would highly recommend staying in this hotel. Very reasonably priced, wedding food was excellent. Would definitely stay again.

Spent a 2 night break with my mum, sister and her son and my two boys, so 3 adults and 3 children under the age of 10... the moment we arrived to when we departed I couldn't say anything wrong about this ... beautiful hotel, the staff ARE the nicest that I have ever met, Geraldine at reception was so welcoming and very helpful, I have stayed at this hotel before and all I can say is that the staff are so pleasant, so helpful and mannerly, they make you feel like they appreciate that you choose their hotel, the food is great, the atmosphere in the lounge bar is great, and for me the highlight was the joy on my boys faces as they returned from the fantastic kids club each night, happy and contented, and that was what made our break, as while they were being entertained, we had leisure time for the spa, pool and a very relaxed delicious dinner in the rest.. for us, this is a gem of a hotel and I would recommend anyone, with or without children to visit and experience the Shearwater Hotel, as nothing is too much for them, we are 100% returning during the summer holidays....cant wait ---

We had a fantastic weekend in Ballinasole with the pampering girly package, the food was excellent along with the service and package deal was great value for money. I would highly recommend the Shearwater Hotel in the future.
